GemTos has left her trace on alot of releases here on Data Airlines with lyrics and remixes on several releases, she came up with infamous lines like -wake up skip school turn on the atari- and is performing as guitarist and singer with dubmoods live-band but her last EP was released back in 2009. This time she has returned with a new four track EP best described as chiptune EBM sung in French and Italian. Like on the first EP, GemTos has put dubmood in the producers chair and Bob Nimbe from Apanbepan has done the coverart. Get it on Bandcamp, Spotify, Deezer, Sound or wherever you like to consume your music.

La Danse de Carla (DATA019) by GemTos

This old chipdisk, untill today only been avalible as an .exe, has been remastered and re-released on the Internet. All the songs were composed by Dubmood and various guests between 2001 and July 2003 using Fasttracker 2 and all the songs has been used in a multitude of cracktros, demos and other demo scene productions over the years. Among the guests are oldschool razor1911 member 3paq, fairlight members Bliss (Henrik Jose) and Zabutom and one of the fyllecell founders Stalker. It is now available for streaming on all the biggest services like spotify & deezer and also avalible as mp3, wav, flac etc on bandcamp. We really hope you will enjoy this pre-historic piece of Data Airlines & Dubmood history.

Facteur, – a Marseilles-based electronic music producer who has been with Data Airlines since almost the beginning, has been touring and collaborating with Dubmood a lot over the years and has recently been very active with rock group Nasser, dubbed a French Soulwax- is back with a new opus.
A calmer and more minimalistic approach to the facteur-music we are used to, he takes us on a voyage through hinterland America in an orgies in simple rhythms and analogue synth-porn and Dubmood joins in on the two last tracks with a fitting Commodore 64 on Jacksonville and a complete Atari ST remix of Palm Desert wich flirts with late 80s cracktro music. With his latest 4 track EP, Dubmood has taken a big leap to widen the genre by bringing guitars, acoustic drums and singing to his chipmusic. A Mix of  dubmoods recent electro-house influences and his earlier hip hop and chip tune-pop tracks, retro-gaming soundtracks and crackintro music. Gem Tos, the android from the retro-phuture is a permanent guest, featuring on three of the 4 tracks but other guests are two of dubmoods fellow musicians from Oai Star and Facteur, with whom dubmood has produced and toured as an electro-house duo in France during 2008 and 2009 and who is now raging havoc with french electrorock-act Nasser. Badlands is the first ep in a new Dubmood triology.

This release is abit out of the ordinary Data Airlines release. Not only does it have six tracks instead of the usual four and contain six different Data Airline regulars, but it is actually a remix EP even though it doesnt seem so at first glance. Here is the story. Remember the bonus track on Sodamnloud!s Hypnodisko EP (DATA006) called Waiting for by Dubmood & Sodamnloud. Well that track turned was later integrated into a track called Heathrow by Dubmood & Facteur. Then it was remixed by Zabutom. Dubmood liked zabutoms remix so much that he decided to remix it but accidently leaked his remix to misfitchris who remixed dubmoods remix of the remix of the remix. Did you follow that? Its not all, Gem Tos jumped in and remixed MisfitChris remix and dubmood took gem tos remix and gave it to psilodump to finish of. Yeah I know it is abit complicated. Anyway here is the result!

For this release we decided to do a unique bandcamp release to support this splendid site who finally cut of the middleman and let you know that the money you spend go direct to the artists. The only downside is that we will miss out on certain streaming services like spotify but i’ll guess we will see to that it ends up there in the end.

After more than 18 months of delays we finally managed to pull this one out. Confipops second gameboy EP on Data Airlines.  Confipop hails from Avignon with origins in the south-french freeparty and spiraltribe-movement and is one of the founding members of the Marseille Micro-HQ. His gameboy work is somwhat of a clash between organic techno and contemporary music interpretaded through his circuitbent children toys and this release is no exception from his style.

Second out in this falls stream of releases is DATA017 – Transregional Des Pyrenees Remixes. A pure usual suspects remix EP from Data Airlines featuring MisfitChris, Zabutom, Maskinoperatör and Gem Tos. The later goes all out with a TER interpretation of Kraftwerk and even pays a visit to the Grand Prix de Pau!
