Earlier this year i got commissioned to do a poster for a mexican film festival. They referenced work done by the local indians from that part of the country. To them its the look of traditional arts and crafts but when i see pearls i also see pixels. Over the past years a lot of scene related artists picked up on transferring pixel art to pearls. So when i spotted the Tixinda characters this week i realized its actually situated on the exact middle between indian art, pixel and characterization.
Anyway, they make kickass toys, and in more styles than pearls but this really caught my eye. Love the rich use of colors that is derived from the native indian culture thousands of years old. A lot more vivid than their peruvian cousins.
