Superior Art Creations (SAC) is one of the oldest constilations still around that can be defined as a pure artscene group. Artscene is, as you who dont know but have been around this site for a while already have guessed, something related to the warez and demoscene. You could define it as as an entity between thoose two said scenes as many of its members were active in one or both of them. Back in the days, the big crackinggroups like Razor1911 had their inhouse artists making their ASCIIs, Siteart, crackintros and grouplogos for them, but the smaller ones had not. At the same time there was alot of “freelance” artists around, most of them looking for ways in and or credits on that days BBS servers, and a way to get that was to do art for thoose smaller crackingcrews. There was many reasons for thoose freelance artists to group up, like the scene being very compedative, just like the demo and warezscene, and another way to build up reputation or simply just the fact that having a well known grouptag added to your name was a way to be trusted in a paranoid enviroment, as a reference. Today, this concept is almost gone, that is for several reasons like the crackingscene walking away from the NFOart and crackintro culture and at the same time getting alot more distanced from “public internet” because of harcher piracylaws. As history goes on today, few of any groups are still around, some of the biggest names were groups like ACiD and iCE… and SAC. SAC who last week released their 36th collection of art produced by its members since their last pack, wich was in 2007. A few years ago you could still see several packs like this per week but time flies. It should be said that the people behind data airlines has been around quite a few of thoose artgroups like cRO, SAC, ACiD, PLF, BAFH, iCE amongst others. So somehow you could see it as a schoolground for teenagers wanting to do computer-art. There are alot of resources and archives on the internet related to the artscene, a good start is defacto2.net, and SAC pack #36 ofcource.
